For those of you who have been following along on Instagram or Facebook (if not, come follow along-I’d love to connect with you more often!), you know that I’ve been having a little bit of mama-freedom lately because my toddler started a Mother’s Day Out program last week (yess)! And let me just say- Wow yes FREEEDOMMM! Totally kidding- I love Ronalee so much but it’s definitely been nice to have a few hours each week to really be productive and focus things in my business that I just haven’t been able to do as well as I would like. One of those things- my blog.
So now that I have some uninterrupted hours in my week, I have no excuses! I’m going to try really hard to stay on top of this blog here. And I couldn’t be more excited about it. One thing that’s been so fun is being able to revisit sessions and weddings that I haven’t blogged yet.
Today I’m excited to share with you one of my FAVORITE sessions to date- a session celebrating Lauren & Dylan’s one year anniversary.
LET’S TALK ANNIVERSARY SESSIONS! I’ve been privileged to photograph more and more of these lately and they are my new favorite type of session. They are just like an engagement session with a couple before their wedding and my approach to an anniversary session is similar too. But celebrating the love of two people who have made that commitment to each other, have been through the better, have been through the worse, have seen the good, bad, ugly in their spouse and have chosen to say “I love you” and “I still choose us” through all of it- THAT is incredible and THAT is why I love celebrating anniversaries with married couples. And what better way to do that than with a photo session?
Lauren and Dylan wanted a session showcasing a city near and dear to their hearts. The city where they met- Austin, Texas. So we did just that. Captured this beautiful couple in the awesome city of Austin. The UT Campus, The Texas Capitol Building, and the Austin Skyline were among some of the backdrops for this anniversary session.
Congratulations and happy one-year anniversary Lauren and Dylan! Thank you for adventuring through Austin with me and cheers to many more happy years together!
