To celebrate Allison and Kyle’s wedding being only FIVE days away, I’m excited to share their gorgeous lakeside engagement session!
One of the things I love most about engagement sessions is that they allow me to meet my couples and start building that friendship with them before their big day. This is why I will always recommend an engagement session to my brides when they book me for their wedding. It’s totally possible to photograph a wedding day beautifully without previously meeting the couple, but for me personally, that’s not the ideal way to go because I really value that relationship with each client I work with. I love- and I mean love – meeting my couples beforehand.
Think of it this way- just like having a hair or makeup trial before your wedding day, an engagement session is like a photography trial run for the big day. We get to meet each other, you’ll get to see how I work and I’ll get acquainted with how you interact as a couple, and we have a chance to work through any concerns or insecurities you may have about being in photos. Or fill me in on anything I need to know before wedding day. And of course, another huge plus is that you’ll have a whole gallery of gorgeous images with your love afterwards!
Originally, it was not it the plan to photograph engagements with Allison and Kyle and so you can imagine how excited I was when plans changed and they decided to do one after all! We met at Overlook Park and Canyon Lake (gorgeous!) for their session and it couldn’t have been more beautiful.
I’ve never been sailing, but this session makes me want to go buy a sailboat and sail wherever the currents take me!
