Hi there! I’m so thrilled you’re here! My name is Jessica and I’m a natural light wedding and portrait photographer serving San Antonio, Texas and abroad. A little about me: I’m a wife of three years, mama to a sassy toddler and a loyal fur baby, originally from southern California, and I can’t live without chocolate (any fellow brownie-lovers out there? Don’t be shy), sunshine and traveling (and my camera of course!).

I first picked up a camera in college – to be honest, it wasn’t for the love of photography at the time but in hopes to avoid my dreaded speech class requirement… photojournalism was the only alternative and having a huge fear of public speaking at the time (you know- the kind of fear where your heart starts to race leading up to your speech and you have the dreaded and extremely awkward lip-shakes during your speech and then that nauseous feeling for a long time after your speech…yep, that was me), it seemed like a no-brainer to take that photojournalism class instead. That semester, I borrowed my roommate’s camera and dove into the world of photography. Little did I know that it would become something I am so passionate about and a business eight years later…and ironically, put me in front of many different groups of people to talk to AND direct on a daily basis…life is funny, isn’t it?

So why do I love photography? First, I love the relationships I get to build with my clients; I’ve met so many amazing people and so many friendships have started through my work. Secondly, I LOVE being able to capture and preserve a moment in time that would otherwise be just a fading memory. I think that is so priceless and powerful. And not just capturing the big moments in life – weddings, graduations, the birth of your first child – but every moment in between which is also fleeting, and therefore, beautiful and worth capturing. To capture a newborn’s itty-bitty toes so mom can always remember how small they were, to capture that five-year-old’s big gap where her front teeth are missing, to celebrate with that high school senior who is closing the chapter of childhood and entering the new and exciting stage of adulthood, to be able to freeze the most exciting day of many people’s lives—their beautiful wedding day. Photography is an amazing tool to help us remember and celebrate the beauty of even the most ordinary of days. I would be honored to capture your Beautiful Today!

One thing I am so passionate about in my business (aside from capturing your beautiful life of course) is being a source that people can turn to for encouragement and inspiration. Because let’s be honest, life is not all rainbows and butterflies. It can be hard sometimes. Really hard. There are some days that it takes a little extra effort just to get out of bed in the morning. And that’s ok…it happens. Without the harder times, we wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate the better times, right?
But my hope is that I can be an encouragement to you if you’re having a harder day. I hope to offer that little word of encouragement or genuine compliment to empower you to keep putting one foot in front of the other even when the day seems impossible. I will be here as a cheerleader and a recklessly-follow-your-dreams-because-you-are-SO-worth-it enthusiast. I will always remind you how remarkable and extraordinary you are. It’s my aim to be a source of joy and add a little bit of needed sunshine to your day. Because who doesn’t love sunshine?! I hope you’ll join me in celebrating the beauty of even the most ordinary of days. Follow on Instagram (@JessicaCholePhotography), Facebook, and here on the blog to see recent work, helpful tips such as family session style guides, and encouragement!
Capturing (and celebrating!) your Beautiful Today,
Not to long ago Jessica did my senior pictures for me and let me tell you, she did an amazing job! Not only did she find a way to make me look beautiful in every picture, she made me feel beautiful as well. Throughout the photo shoot she was constantly complimenting me and telling how gorgeous I looked. She made me feel beautiful, special, and excited. I am proud to say that she is not only my former photographer but a dear friend of mine. You can tell that she is passionate about her job, but she is also very passionate about her clients and making them feel excited and special. I can’t wait for the day when I have her do my wedding photos. (in the late future obviously.)
Aw Sadie, it was such a pleasure working with you! I had a blast and I’m so glad you did too! Yes please! When you find that lucky guy (because the man you choose is verrrry lucky to have you!), I would be ecstatic to photograph you both! Much love to you and good luck in all your post high school endeavors. xo
